Farm-to-table sports bar Element on Broadway shutters after less than a year and more Denver-area closures

It seemed like a successful mix of ingredients: A farm-to-table sports bar, a notorious “Top Chef” contestant and a spot on Broadway.

But maybe not.

Element Kitchen + Cocktail, billed as Denver’s first farm-to-table sports restaurant and bar, has closed after less than a year, managing partner Jonathan Spadafora confirmed.

The farm-to-table part of the deal came from “Top Chef” alum John Tesar, who created Element’s fresh take on standard bar food.

As first reported by Eater, Element closed over the weekend. Lucky for those who like their drinks with a side of designer sneaker shopping, the upstairs bar/shoe shop, Sneekeazy, remains open.

As of this publishing, there was no sign on the door of Element about the closure.

In other surprising restaurant closure news, Solera will shutter at the end of the month. Chef Goose Sorensen sent an email to friends, family and customers explaining his decision.

“It is with a happy heart and a clear mind that I would like to announce that after 16 amazing years, I have inked a deal to sell Solera and will be closing down the restaurant in March,” Sorenson said.

He thanked all the employees, colleagues and customers who’ve helped along the way, but he said “it’s time for a much-needed break, lots of fishing, and some quality family time.”

Stop in before Solera closes for good on Saturday, March 31.

And, since these sorts of things always come in threes, you’d better stock up on pie because the Centennial Village Inn will close on March 25.

“After very careful consideration, we have made the tough but necessary decision to not renew our lease at the Village Inn on E. Arapahoe Road. This is never an easy decision to make and one driven by many business factors,” vice president of Human Resources Robin Kane said in a statement.
