Cherry Cricket’s second location by Coors Field has an opening date

For the second year in a row, April is shaping up to mean big things for popular burger joint Cherry Cricket.

Last April, the original Cricket re-opened after a fire shut it down for five months. This year, on April 17, the Cherry Cricket will open its second location in the former Breck on Blake space by Coors Field.

The team closed Breck on Blake on Nov. 12 and started overhauling the space to make it more Cricket-esque, which, it turns out, involves fish. The new spot will have a giant salt water tank that will be home to all kinds of aquatic life, as well as a handful of fake crickets hidden throughout for kids to spot. They’ll collect a prize when they find them all.

The Ballpark Cricket will feature the same burger-centric menu as the Cherry Creek North location because, let’s be honest, Denverites would probably revolt if it didn’t. Even those who don’t like peanut butter on a burger are comforted just knowing it’s there. It’s the Cricket way.

If all goes to plan, the new location will start serving on April 17. And if it doesn’t, you’ll just have to wait a bit longer to grab a Cricket burger and beer before heading over to the Rockies game.
